What is the principle of permanent hair removal?
The principle of the permanent hair removal laser is induced by the emission of a light beam, which passes through the epidermis along the hair root until it reaches the bulb responsible for hair regeneration. The melanin contained in the hair absorbs all the laser energy, converts it into heat and transfers it to the bulb by conduction. As a result, this supply of heat destroys the structure responsible for hair production and growth.
Permanent hair removal destroys 80% to 95% of the hairs that appear during treatment (results vary according to age and the area to be treated). Therefore, once the bulb is destroyed, there is no hair growth, thus providing definitive results.
In the case of light (less melanin) or fine hairs, permanent hair removal is sometimes not possible. It will therefore be recommended to have 1 to 2 sessions per year for maintenance.
The results of laser depilation on ginger hair are random, we must be careful and recommend 2 to 3 sessions in a small area to check if the treatment is effective.
There is no melanin in blond, grey and white hair, so the laser is ineffective. However, some patients who have salt and pepper hairs but still have melanin at the base, can start a laser treatment to remove part of it and complete with electric hair removal, to perfect the result.
